Expert Travel Opinion

Himalayan walks are about leisurely walks as you steadily gain or lose height as you enjoy views of the Himalayas, river streams and villages. The walks take you past pristine forests (Cedar / Pine / Rhododendron forests), Terraced fields and enroute, you will be greeted by ever smiling locals. During days when you do a village walk, you arrive by late afternoon or early evening to a village base where you spend an evening with locals. The evenings are all about a bit of rest, talking to locals understanding their tough life in the hills, enjoying simple Kumaoni style dinner and a little bonfire after dinner under a thousand stars. The walking for many hours for a few days is therapeutic for nature travellers as one returns from the Himalayas feeling fresher, fitter and calmer. The smile of the locals is infectious and their hard life puts our daily comforts in a much better perspective. Experiential Kumaon is a kind of experience that will offer an experience for you come back yearning more.
